Halloween will always place me back into my childhood. I recall racing home from School and getting my Boba Fett vinyl costume on at light speeds and running outside to meet my friends on the corner. As I got older it was less about the candy and more about the shaving cream and eggs. Running around in a cold sweat ducking roving bands of fellow n'er do wells. Coming home and being forced to undress in the hallway so as not to track in the mess. As I got a little older it was all about house parties and drinks and daring misadventures. Girls in sexy costumes and coming home with a belly full of flat beer and pillaged bottles of whatever liqueur mixed with kit kats and now and laters. But even though the mechanics of the party changed the soul remained pure and intact. Halloween was and is always that time of innocence and make believe. Now older still, I jump with excitement every time the doorbell rings so I can fill out all those little trick or treat bags with mega candy and look back and see it all over again.
