Beware all false pretenders to the throne, here there be blue blooded bastards. Welcome Todays Ass Kickers: New Model Army. Led by fire driven Justin Sullivan, NMA have blazed a trail through multiple decades never conceding or laying down their founding principles. NMA are rebel upstarts one part Punk one part goth and one part neither. Musically they are solid and lyrically razor sharp. There is a quality and timelessness to their style and message with their hearts firmly pinned to their sleeves they have never given up but rushed headlong into the fray regardless of number or weapon.

Please for the sake of your persons listen without fear, just drown in the sounds of true brilliance. They are on the top of my list of bands that should have made it big time but alas proper dentistry and the unwillingness to play nice has put a paid to mass-appeal. DIGit OF THE DAY: Lacrimas Profundere!

I Have been flirting with this band for years, never really sure If I liked them or loved them. Its that strange ass hybrid of Metal and Goth which tend to make all the artists sound like the same damn band most of the time. I am a lyric whore and dammit I do prefer a guitar over a synth any-day. With this band you get both, plus the added bonus of a brand new singer and guitarist! I must say they stole my respect and my love at Mera Luna giving a brilliant show and walking a great line between Goth and Rock. Sadly there isnt much with the new singer as of yet. In the mean time try some of this on see if it fits.

BUSY BEE - THE RETURN!

What A Mad Sexy Night at Underworld. Audiophile brutally murdered the dance floor. Like a bezerker teddy Bear with a thirst for blood. Not doing so bad myself either along with Bride and Stephen we fortified the night with enough mayhem and bliss to kill a small hipster, no one got pictures of that right.

So Friday is here and along comes Straynoise with a cadre of cybertastic DJs out to give aural pleasure. Come tonight get drunk and dance your asses off!

Montreal A BANG BANG

Man has legs that means we are mobile we have a brain that means we have independent steering from birth. It used to be a person would never leave a mile radius from where he was born, this sounds incredible now but it is true. I have always felt and will keep on feeling that one of the best things a person can do in their life is travel, go out and get lost. A mind put into turmoil is an active mind, one that can not reason with familiar surrounds. I have been fortunate enough to expand my rather smaller serfling world. My scope has been getting larger and larger soon I will be skinny dipping with polar bears and picnicking with the penguins :)but first our lovely neighbors must deal with me and my own! First there is Kinetik!

Here is the deal load up a van Friday Morning at 9am load it up with Mandana, Craig, Jeff, Tom, Xris and your truely Sean. Now get on the highway and travel 6 hours across the border into Canada, and not get arrested or at the very least killed. Done...Now Locate hotel Holiday Inn Express (Poor Stupid Bastards)



Ok checked it, drop off bags ...need booze. Ok not to sound dicky but its me so deal: Montreal sucks at booze. No top or Middle shelf no beer at all, a choice of 4 beers through out and its all shit. Ok we can deal we are strong we are viking wargods far from home.

I have come to realize this about Goths of the male persuasion - we are so freakin gay getting dressed! Fighting for mirror space, asking how things look over and over and the preening dear god the preening. Still the end result is acceptable and after a few beers and some vodka we have assembled and readied quickly after drive we get to Kinetik in time for some more drinks at the bar, very weak except the everyone loves this lychee drink its like a smirnoff ice put with that hippy edge. As a thinking animal we learn to sneak in our own - Vodka is clear like water :). Now I want this to be a lesson to all Montreal Powernoize festivals - stock the bar proper and give value for the dollar and we wont have to resort to this!

We missed Nitzer Ebb on Thursday, a few peeps couldnt get off from work, so the first band we saw on Friday after all the hanging out and scouting out the venue was Funker Vogt - very good, I never saw them live and was very please. Unlike alot of EBM acts they move around and try to perform their songs instead of just miming it. They played for awhile and much kudos to the venue the line of sight is great here.
